liebster-award

A big shout out, and THANK YOU, to Rusty (Squatch) over at~ My Blog News And Blues Reviews , for the Liebster Nomination. Shut the front door!  My very first blog award!  So unexpected, I’m thrilled, honored, and really appreciate it. If you’re not already following him, you better!! 😉 Like as soon as you’re done reading this head over to his place and have a look.

There are a few rules, and they are as follows, per Rusty!
♦ Put the Liebster Award logo on your blog.
♦ Thank and tag the blog who nominated you.
♦ Answer their questions and come up with 10 new ones for your nominees.
♦ Nominate 10 blogs with less than 200 followers, let them know you’ve nominated them and link them in your post.

Ok so here goes. Rusty posed these questions for his nominees… I hope I do them proud.

1) Now that you are here in the magical realm of the blogosphere, what do you want?

Oh boy, well lets see. I don’t have a clear view of what I want. Kind of like answering the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I’m not sure I want to grow up, or really have an exact view of what my blog should represent. I hope that my voice, can give perspective, insight, some laughs, and just pure enjoyment for my readers. I have no expectations, therefore I will always be surprised by what unfolds along the way. I’m looking forward to taking my blog on a lovely journey, and am glad to have everyone join me in the ride.

2) What is your inner animal?

My inner animal. I’d have to say the Red Fox. For as long as I can remember, there’s always been a fox along my travels. Whenever I go to the beach, take a walk in the woods, go to the store, and even an ex (without knowing any of this) used to refer to me as Foxy Red. I like to think of myself as slightly mysterious, mischievous, clever, intelligent, sexy…obviously there are other attributes to what a fox is like. I’m definitely not sly or conniving, I’m more the playful side.

3) On your blog, are you public, or private, in regard to your personal self?

My blog is a public blog, but I don’t reveal too much personal information. I’m still fairly new in the blog world, and teeter on the line of how much of my personal life I want to reveal. In my dating blog posts, I mainly focus on the bad or awkward, although I may start to talk about the good stuff as well. My poetry, and other categories, I reveal parts of my imagination as well as from personal experience. I am trying to be more public, but I also have some hesitation as to how it will be perceived by those who know me personally.

4) Are you happy in your present place in this life?

I’m fairly happy with things right now. But I always refer to myself as an “Ever Evolving Work in Progress” There is always room for improvement, in all aspects of life. There are days I’m content, others I wish for more than what is present. It’s a matter of finding balance. I am very grateful for what I do have, and where I am, especially from what I’ve had to deal with.

5) If I could give you one wish, what would that be?

Aren’t we all supposed to ask for infinite wishes? 😉 Actually I don’t know what I would wish for. So it might be safe to say I should ask for those infinite wishes, I would start with pure uninhibited self-confidence. Squashing that inner voice that sometimes pops up and whispers…you’re not good enough, you’re not pretty enough, you’re not …. enough. Yeah I’d start with that one.

6) What would be your ideal job?

My ideal job would be, to be a Journalist again, or a published author. I loved being a Journalist. I worked for two newspapers, upstate NY while I was in college. I tried my hardest to get a job after graduating, but moving back to Long Island, at the time it was very difficult. The local daily paper out here, honestly wasn’t (isn’t) much more useful than bird-cage liner. It was used by my professors as a “What not to do” tool. Yet I still couldn’t get a job. I did however have a fantastic job as a Media Buyer at an advertising agency in Manhattan. It really was the best. Until I could no longer work due to my accident. I’ve been toying with the idea of throwing my hat out into the weekly newspaper ring. But for now, I’m dabbling in my blog to help me get back into writing again. I’ve neglected it for too long, due to health issues. Now’s the time for me.

7) Do you have a favorite kind of pet?

I’ve had a dog as a child, and I loved BOOTS so very much. He was a mutt, never knew what he really was, but what he Really was…was an awesome little fella. I also had a cat my, Cocoa. She was the best kitty around. A Maine Coon. So I guess it’s safe to say I have two favorite animals. Yet since each of their passings, I haven’t had the heart to get more pets.

8) Are you able to discuss, religion, politics, or feelings openly, with strangers?

After some warming up and getting a feel for people, yes I’m fairly comfortable. I’ve learned in my lifetime, chose when to speak up and when to just walk away. There are moments, and people, who there is no point in these particular discussions. I can appreciate, and embrace opposing points of view, IF they are backed up by facts. Obviously facts can greatly differ.

9) Knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently, and of course, why?

I was just asked this the other day while on a date. Wow, at first I said I would have chosen not to go away the weekend of September 17th, 2000 with my then boyfriend. Because then I wouldn’t have had my car accident. That event has taken so many things from me. My spirit was drained, my physical capabilities were taken from me, my lively hood, my dreams and aspirations,  it crushed my soul as well as bones, tendons, and many other things. At first I would have decided not to go away that weekend. BUT then as we were discussing this the other day, I realize that I wouldn’t be the person I am now. I may not be where I had envisioned my life, but I am one pretty fucking lucky woman to be where I am, after all I have been through. So I wouldn’t have done anything differently 🙂

10) How many fingers am I holding up?

5 lol. I don’t know Rusty, I can’t see that far away! But 5 as in a high 5 because I made it through your rigorous test of wills and was able to answer all of your questions. All which have been quite interesting and thought-provoking.

Now I do hope I can spread the good cheer of the Liebster Award and find some truly deserving Bloggers out here in the Blogosphere.

So without further adieu, I nominate the following bloggers, in no particular order. Drum roll please!!…
