It’s finally hit.
The wall.
A case of Writers block. My inspiration seems to have dried up. Hopefully just momentarily. I pondered writing about Wanderlust but even that is evading my weary mind.
Too much swirling around and yet not enough of what I want to be thinking about. I worked last night to write the post that branched off from weekend coffee share but it’s not sitting well with me.
Unfinished.
Left in limbo.
A parallel of how I’m viewing my life right now. Seems fitting. But not acceptable.
I think it’s also a case of having my rhythm interrupted. I usually find inspiration late at night when things quiet down. At the local coffee shop. And on the trails.
But after my recent tick bite, I’ve avoided the trails, even when the weather has been decent enough. My other moments of creative inspiration seem to have taken an abrupt stop today as well. Too much interference, interruptions, distractions.
I need a RM&W cave lol. Like a man cave but for me to escape when I need to. One of those little reclusive spots in the back yard away from distractions. Yep I need one of these.

- Do you have a specific location/time that you do your writing?
- What do you do if your mojo gets interrupted? How do you find it again?
- Any rituals to help the creativity flow when you’re feeling a little less inspired?
So I guess in retrospect, my mojo of inspiration, although not what I expected for today, turned out to inspire a little piece for today’s post anyway.
I also think I may have a future project on my hands and a few trips to the home improvement store ahead of me. I have two sheds in the back yard, and although they have been severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy, I may have a bit of inspiration to renovate them into my RM&W space…. Now just to find the extra money to do such a project. Until then, I’ll just seek inspiration in other forms. Hopefully they appear soon.
Today’s A to Z Challenge post is brought to you by the letter W. W for Writers Block!!
I loved this post. I have just begun blogging so haven’t really hit a wall yet but imagine the time will happen. I love the idea of a special place for writing. Particularly love that last quaint pic you posted. Best of luck fighting the block and winning. Cheryl

Thank you so much, Cheryl. I do so love that last photo as well, probably my favorite of the bunch. But all so interesting for various reasons. I thought I was doing so well, with not hitting that wall, but it’s bound to happen at some point. Hopefully it doesn’t last too long. Thank you. I hope that you don’t hit it too soon, or better yet, at all!! 🙂

I have a prompt box that has random words/phrases and I do a 10 minute freewrite each morning. It gets me in a creative mood that magically lasts all day.

That sounds like a great idea! Plus the fact it lasts that long is pretty impressive. Might have to try something like that 🙂

Great post. Doing the a-z myself and it’s been quite the challenge. Looking forward to it finishing so I can go back to writing my novel. Haha.

I’m having such mixed emotions over A to Z ! As much as I enjoy it, I’m also looking forward to going back to my daily writing of randomness, but at least A to Z has kept me in a writing mode. Until today, but I think that’s just life in general catching up to me haha. Now, if only I can put as much effort into my story writing… 🙂

I have thought about doing it every year but decided against due to time constraints, which still applied this year but I decided to push myself. I’ve enjoyed it. I think creativity naturally comes in bursts, after a burst, we plateau, then set forth again. I think getting through it is a huge accomplishment, so be proud of yourself.

I’m still a relatively new blogger, and so this is the first I’ve heard of A~Z, didn’t think I had it in me but glad I stuck with it. It was a good push for me I think as well. Oh yes, writing is like a roller coaster ride, still riding along and pushing my way through. Thank you, I’m working on it. 🙂

Wow. How convenient that writer’s block hit only when you were on “W” in your A to Z Challenge… 🙂

Convenient, perhaps, but only in terms of A to Z! 🙂 It’s been lurking around behind closed doors since U. Hoping it takes a hike asap, as I still have X, Y and Z left

Yes he would have!! I just couldn’t find many appropriate photos of him online lol. I do see quite a few Zombie posts for A-Z out there…

Well, at least an A-Z challenge helps spur ideas! You might need a mental break after all this!

Yes it did spur some good ideas, it’s been fun, but I do think a break might be needed. 🙂
