I’m not one for New Years resolutions. When I was younger I would feed into the ideals of trying to lose weight, get in shape, give something up, or in some cases…someone. Needless to say those ideals were often short lived…as impromptu resolutions that is. Once they became a lifestyle change they held much more meaning.
As you prepare to turn the page and end the chapter called 2014, remember to appreciate each line you’ve penned so far. Even the ones you wish to take an eraser to. Be proud you’ve survived and made it through them. Ultimately you’ve been able to experience these moments, good or indifferent, and so they are written. Now it’s time to move on, with open mind, eyes, heart, and arms to the coming chapter in your book. Be open to possibilities and adventures that await you. Take chances, go outside your comfort zone, dare to push your perceived limitations, live vivaciously!!
If perchance you feel the need for a resolution as you make your New Year’s Eve toast, I say resolve to be the best version of yourself you can be. Be gentle to yourself, but don’t let yourself become frail. Put yourself first, it’s not being selfish but self preserving. Have an open and loving heart, even for those you sometimes feel don’t deserve it, but never let them take advantage of your kindness.
Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!! Cheers!! 🙂
